Bring the Kids Home

Your son is not coming home,
Died in the desert, all alone,
Fighting for a country, that doesn't believe,
Working for a military, that just wont leave,
You may be proud, now you have to grieve,
A folded flag is all you will receive...

Boys grab your guns, I'll show you something fun,
No time to debate, kill them to liberate,
A country filled with pain, something we can't tame,
At least we will get the fame,

Your daughter won't be home for dinner,
She's on her way to slay the sinners,
Bringing freedom to those who hate her,
Or is it the oil we want for sure?

Girls grab your guns, I'll show you something fun,
No time to debate, kill them to liberate,
A country filled with pain, something we can't tame,
We may only get the shame,

Children fighting a senseless war,
When there is troubles here; at our shores,
Re-evaluate what is going on,
Before our future stars are gone,
Before they get the chance to shine,
Focus on OUR economy, OUR people this time,
I stand behind our troops, I do,
But why they are there, is not for me or you,

Children grab your guns, I'll show you something fun,
No time to debate, kill them to liberate,
A country filled with pain, something we can't tame,
At least the will know our names,

Bring them home!
Please, bring them home!

  1. I wrote this last night in like 10 mins.. It popped in my head so I had to write it as fast as possible before I forgot it. I have NO idea where it came from. I haven't thought about the war or anything like that in a long time. The conversation I was having when it came to me had nothing to do with anything political.
Now when you read it, don't get me wrong. Like I said I do stand behind our forces, the job they do is amazing. But I just think it's time to come home and start focusing on our own land and issues instead of dying in another country for reasons unknown. I know we are there to "liberate" them and try to get them on their feet, but with the amount of resistance both from radicals and the people of that country, I don't see this happening. And I know people can say, "You're not over there. Things are changing and getting better." Maybe. All I see is the soldiers on the news coming back in coffins and bags. Maybe we are doing some good over there. If so I think there should be more coverage on the good. But that would be against the agenda.. and I wouldn't have anything to bitch about. Take that in and enjoy.
