So, I just got all 4 season of Paranormal State. I freakin' love this show. I have already watched them all a few months ago, but I'm watching them again. Some parts are really cheesy, but there are some really crazy parts.
I personally have a lot of beliefs when it comes spirits. It's kinda funny though because I have never really believed in God, or religion. I have some issues with organized religion. I think (and its only my opinion) that some people need churches and organized religion as something to lean on. Some of those people are weak and I think that they are taken advantage of because of it. They end up giving money and time in order to feel better in their life. They drive 20 year old vehicles while the reverend drives a brand new Cadillac.....sorry I'm jumping off topic.
So, like I was saying, I had never really believed in there being a God or Devil, but I do think there is good and evil. I also believe there is spirits around us at all times. I have been touched by things and I see things all the time. I get crazy vibes, and shivers when I feel there is something around. So maybe I don't know what to believe. I watch ghost stories, scary movies, all kinds of occult things. As I said before I have been writing a horror movie that is based on some paranormal happenings. I had to halt writing a few months ago after I was seeing a lot of activity and voices. I know that if you do a lot of the research and stuff that I do it can open yourself up to the other side. I know this and when it becomes intense I drop all research and let things kool off.
Now the things I don't get is why I'm so drawn to it. I LOVE watching and reading things about the paranormal. I don't think I'm a medium or anything like that. But I am drawn to the unknown. Maybe that's just the way I am. I find it all very interesting. I think that if I didn't have a wife and kids... I might have perused something along the lines of demonology.
I have a friend that I was close with in high school that actually went to school and has since become a priest. If we weren't across the country I would love to get together with him and have some coffee. Really pick his brain of all things from the other side.
I don't know how you feel about this stuff, but let me know. Let's get some stories you might have or get some discussion on beliefs. I know that belief systems are huge, so if you have strong feelings it's OK to post. Let's not fight about anything or get into that whole mess. That's not the point.

Ahhh, my kind of topic. I myself sit am a fence sitter when it comes to believing in God. I believe in a higher force (Star Wars jokes aside here), but I have a lot of issues believing in aspects of the teaching in the bible, which comes back to the organized religion side of it.

You know I believe from the conversations we've had, that I believe in ghosts, spirits, etc. I believe we are constantly surrounded by them, even guiding us so to speak, in daily things.. But some argue this is the voice of God.
I've always been fascinated with the unknown as well and I too think that if I wasn't married with kids, I would have probably pursued something in parapsychology. A medium? I've been told I am.
When I was a child, I used to see things all the time, (and I can get more into it later the things I saw) to the point where I had extensive eye testing. People think I kid when it comes to this, but you can ask my mom. They thought it was due to the shape of my right eye--which people only notice when I point it out to them. I was tested with 20/20 vision and that my "deformity" has/had absoultely no effect on my vision.
This is kind of where I wonder... we have terms for people a lot of people now a days who see/hear things. How much of it is psychosis? Are they really seeing things?
Me personally, I believe we can see/hear things evil and good, it's all how we deal with the evil side. I think some really don't know how to. It's like the 3 dimensional people that walk around us in daily life, it's how you deal with the evil and good. You let one or the other into your life more, then of course that's what you'll feed off of.
I could ramble more, but I'll leave it at that for now.
