UFC 152

So here we are again. Another fight night in Canada. Now I'm totally jealous, when that UFC rolled through Calgary (UFC 149), we got a turd of a card. And I think it's being remembered as the worst in a long time. Either way, let's focus on this one. We have some big fights.

Jon Jones VS Vitor Belfort: I don't know why but in the past Jons is just pissing me off. But at the same time I really like him. I think he is good for the sport. It doesn't seem to me like he's dodging anyone. I wish he would lose the beard. He's only 25. I don't know if he is growing it so people forget he is so young. Belfort has 10 years on him. But he is a killer. I'm hoping its a slugfest. If Jones isn't careful he could get KO'd. But I'm sure the stealthy youngster is going to come out on top.

Joseph Benavidez VS Demetrious Johnson: Not going to lie, I know nothing about these fellows. It's for the Fly Weight belt, and those little dudes are usually pretty entertaining.

Michael Bisping VS Brian Stann: I fucking hate Bisping. He's just an arrogant TWAT. And Stann is a pretty straight up beast. I'm hoping its a one, two KO for Stann. Watch Bisping's toes curl like when he fought Hendo.

Matt Hamill VS Roger Hollett: I like Hamill, guys a beast and has over come a lot to get to where he is. I'm a little confused because he already retired last year due to a plague of injuries. But whatevs. Now with that said I'm totally biased and going for Roger because he is Canadian.

With that said for the remaining fights I choose all the Canadian fighters. LOL. Either way I'm hoping to have some awesome fights. I don't know whats going on lately but the UFC has been plagued with fighters pulling out and changes happening almost daily. Back in the day fighters seemed to always fight, hurt or not, and put on WAY better shows. There used to be beasts that went out there and slaughtered each other. Now it seems to be all about pacing and just working on getting the win. Win each round, even if it means dancing the whole time. I get it, with every sport there are strategies. I just think combat sports were better when they were pure animalistic bouts. Just my opinion.

The "Choking Game"

So there is a game that has been going around FOR YEARS. I'm sure everyone knows it. You put your head between your knees for a couple seconds, blow all your air out, raise your head quickly and choke yourself. It knocks you out and gives you a instant rush of euphoria. Sounds fucking stupid? That's because it is. I remember kids in my public school doing it. I never did, well, because I'm not a total fucking knob. Nothing about it seemed appealing to me. You look like an idiot when you pass out, some guys were smashing their faces on the pavement, etc when falling down. Getting a cheap high like that seemed like something only "special" kids should try.

Why do you bring it up Dog? Well because there has been rash of these incidents in Ontario. Some kids are putting the videos on YouTube. Seriously. The recent rash of incidents has brought around GASP (Games Adolescents Shouldn't Play) bringing out stats like 25-1,000 kids die every year from playing this crap. Apparently the game has evolved and kids are using ropes and belts and so on and when they pass out they don't wake up. *shakes head*. C'mon! What the hell is wrong with kids? Sure kids did this same shit back in the day, but it was a very quick, maybe week long phase. Not a past time where you start thinking of "SAW" traps you can set up and get a quick high. WAKE THE HELL UP KIDS! Why don't you try learning math a bit better. Might help with your equations. Or read a book. I hear that Harry Porter does some crazy shit.

Do me a favor. Ask your kid if they have ever tried this game. If they say they have punch them in the throat. And when they wake up this time tell them if they ever do it again they get another one! If they are that into passing out you will joyfully randomly throat shot them. Then they wont have to play it with their friends.

Puppy KICKED TO DEATH!

You know what really makes my blood boil? Animal abuse. I was reading through the Calgary Sun and came across something insane. I 32 year old man came home to find is girlfriend's 11 month old puppy had soiled in the house. He then grabbed it and threw it out a second floor balcony into the alley. From there he went down stairs, found the dog in the alley, kicked it to death by crushing its skull. Then he took it and threw it in the recycling bin, TOOK A PICTURE AND SENT IT TO HIS GIRLFRIEND who was at work. Now the part I'm not sure about is that the Sun made it sound like it happened today but when I researched it the Herald says it happened 2 years ago? Not that the time changes the details of the crime. But the guy might get 6-8 months in jail for animal abuse and he might be on probation for the max of 3 years.

You know what... I say that doesn't fit the crime. I'm sorry, why can't we throw him off a balcony and kick the living fuck outta him. Maybe email a pic to his mom? Sure that might be over board. But if he is willing to murder an animal for taking a piss in his house, there is nothing saying he wont move on to a human down the line. And there are doctors that can try to talk to him and figure out if he is going to be a repeat offender, but it's just too much. They said throwing the dog would have been spontaneous, but the rest was full blown, I know what I'm doing murder. And then sending a pic to his girlfriend? I guess the silver lining is she got the fuck outta there before he was beating on her.

Hey hey, its that time of week again. I might start doing more of these other than just on Monday cuz.. well I love music and I'm certainly listening to more than what gets posted on here. I'm also going to mix it up more with older stuff and newer stuff. I have a crazy amount of music and honestly if you plugged into my place list most people would consider it bipolar. I love all kinds of music as you will start to see. With that said the most played tune this week had to be ADTR - 2nd Suck. Some of their stuff is a little too fluffy for me but this track slays!

Closing Mideast Embassies?

I just caught some of this stuff on the news. So what I am to understand. Some asshole in America, made a terrible (quality & story) movie. Showed it to like 10 people. It then leaked onto youtube. And now there is insanity in the middle east (more than normal).

I might be way off. I have to wait till I get home to watch the video with sound. But from what I can tell is its a seriously shitty movie. It looks like something someone from SNL cooked up. Bad green screen, and I'm sure shitty acting. I guess the director showed it to like 10 people at a rented theater and it leaked online. Or something. Either way. Its fucking stupid. Why the fuck would anyone give this a second thought?

I'll tell you why. None of that rioting and bullshit going on over there really has anything to do with that retarded movie. I don't like throwing that word around but seriously. That is fucking retarded. The riots and so on is a sign. I'm calling it. Time to GTFO! If they are going to attack our embassies and protest foreigners on their land, let's bounce. We can take all our relief rice and fresh water and bring it back over here and start feeding our homeless. Hell ship some of they crazy foreigners we got her, back over there. I'm not saying they all have to do. I'm friends with a lot of people of different backgrounds, races, religions. I'm saying the ones that come over and don't want to play by our rules, time to go. Pack whatever you brought over and GTFO!

Is that what it's come too? Segregation? I just don't know anymore. Slowly but surely we are losing all contact with humanity and the dreams of unity seem to be going down with it. It's hard to offer a hand when at a moments notice the fingers might get bit.

In the end lets get down the brass tax. If its not a fucking stupid video, whats the real issue? How can it be solved in a civilized manner? Let's get back to calming the fuck down and working shit out. Can we?

V/H/S - A review

SO.. here we go. I am a fan of the "found footage" genre of horror films that has come out in the last little bit. Sometimes they can be a bit hard to watch with all the jumping around and shit. But if its scary and looks awesome, I'm in. They can seem more real and really put you in the action. AND, I love anthology movies. Creepshow, tales from the darkside, all fucking awesome, all classics. SO with this flick you have a mix of both. So, I'm thinking FUCK YEAH! Bring that on!

10-15 minutes into it all hope started to sink. To me it seemed that there was a lot of ideas that ended up getting thrown together. To me, and maybe I missed it, but there wasn't really a story. I get that there is 6 mini stories (5 being told inside 1), but it just didn't work for me. I had to go through and read with wiki page and imdb just to figure out what the hell I watched. Here's a run down, careful spoilers:


Tape 56/Main Story Arc - This is the main movie story line. A group of douchebag thugs are hired by some unknown person to break into a house and steal a VHS tape. While in the house they find several tapes and a "dead body". For whatever reason they watch a couple of the tapes in the house and are killed off one by one, or we are lead to believe. I was cheering when these dudes were getting OFF'd cuz they were complete scumbags. But at the same time, there was nothing scary about it. Just folks disappearing during the other story tapes.


Amateur Night - This is our first actual story played out by tape. Three dudes are getting ready to "bro down", pic up some ladies and video tape themselves having sex with them. They meet a couple normal girls and one tweaker. Even drunk you would pick up on how weird this girl was and walked the fuck away. I don't care what anyone says. She keeps whispering "I like you.." to the main character. But not like "let's bang", like, "I wanna see what your organs taste like". No aside from the asshole that keeps laughing like a jackass the whole clip, the really annoying thing is that the camera is in the main characters glasses, and he keeps going in and out of the bathroom. Had he not and all the shit that ended up happening be shown, this would have been one sick ass piece. But I found the going in and out of the bathroom while the chick went beast mode on the guys in the room annoying. If he had tried to fight her off, or coward in the corner watching it all go down, would have made it better. This was def one of the better clips. I thought the chick was a gargoyle, but after reading I guess she was a succubus, which is a killer concept. I would love to see this fleshed out into a longer story. Oh, also, if the main guy had said "i like you too" and let the beast blow him in the stairwell would he have survived? 


Second Honeymoon - This one was a turd. Here's why. It starts out with a couple on vacation. We know nothing about them just BAM here's a couple. They go and get a fortune read from a machine and then end up in a shady motel/hotel. A girl knocks at the door asking for a ride. The guy is totally freaked out by this guy, doesn't want to call the cops, and they go about their business. Then the cam turns on in the middle of the night and this mask person guides a switchblade on the sleeping girls body. That is fucking scary. The unknown. The next night it starts the same, someone grabs the cam, this time stabs the dude in the throat. Turns out the be the girls lesbian lover. They girls drive off.. end of story. What? Where the fuck is the context in that? Where they unhappy? Where did this chick come from? I dunno. Like I said I think it's the write in me that wants to know more. It was kinda shocking to see buddy get shanked though.


Tuesday the 17th - Another turd. A girl brings a bunch of her friends to her home town lake as bait for Jason Voorhees wanna be killer. Who can't be caught on tape. She even set traps for him that has no effect and she ends up dead. Seriously, don't know what to say about this one. I would say cut it to flesh out the other ones more.


The Sick Thing That Happened to Emily When She Was Younger - This one was my favorite. Although I feel the trailer made it out scarier than it turned out to be. But this one had/has the best chance at becoming something more I think. But with that, this one left me with the most questions. Maybe thats why I want more of it. What are the little kids? Where is the guy? She thinks he is in Michigan but it takes him like 5-10 seconds to get into her apt. What is the fetus thing he pulls out of her? How many has she had already? Whats with the tracking chips in the girls? How many girls does he do this with? Honestly I want more of this one.. lol. 


10/31/98 - This is the last one and again I felt it was scarier in the trailer. I liked the delivery, but thought there is no way it could happen. You show up at a Halloween party with your buddies. The place is empty. NO ONE, is going to assume its a haunted attraction and go through the place. EVERYONE is going to say "fuck this, lets go to the bar!" or start looking for another house that's having a bash. With that said, lets say you do continue on. The story was good. Not as spooky as I thought it would be with the arms coming out and so on. I was hoping for it to be a little more crazy. But the ending was sweet. Still it leaves you wondering who was the girl? What were the guys in the attic doing? Sending her back to hell? Who knows. 

All in all after it was all said and done Sis and I simply looked at each other and said "what the hell?". It's too bad I was really pulling for this flick. And it might just be me. It has a 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes right now.








I also read Dave Pace's review on Fangoria and although he enjoyed it more than I, he saw some of the same issues as I did. How did these tapes all come to be. How did they go from the devices to a VHS tape, to this creepy guys house? I guess it's not the point. Give it a watch. If you sit in the dark and watch it, it is still pretty creepy. Enjoy!
